about

Mourning Moon was originally written November 2015 while I was in Boston. There is a video of me playing the original version in my old apartment before I revamped it for the album.
The song was composed during a full moon; a time I've felt holds some kind of significance. After doing a little research, I learned that in Pagan traditions there are names and attached meanings to each full moon throughout the year. The interpretation for the Mourning Moon basically means to let go of the past and embrace the future.
At that time, I was about a month away from graduating and was going to be leaving Boston and returning home. It was a bit of a harsh reality knowing that I was going to be leaving the band I started and the friends I had made behind, so I wrote a song about it.
